She Leads With Love: Meet Jacqueline Walker Johnson

LEADING WITH LOVE - FROM INFINITY TO BEYOND

Meet Jacqueline Walker Johnson - a woman who wears many hats. Not only is she a mother, wife, big sister, and friend, but she is also a beautiful and strong woman who has cracked the code on achieving healing and wholeness in her life. Her strength lies in her ability to break through limiting beliefs, and she is now a catalyst for women's healing.

With a background in magazine editing, jewelry, and cosmetology, Jacqueline is a multi-talented creative who uses her skills to empower, inspire, uplift, and encourage women in the Caribbean and all over the world. Her unwavering confidence and determination make her a true force to be reckoned with.

What inspired you to start your mission of helping and healing others?

Hi there, She Wins Society! What an amazing opportunity and platform for uplifting women! I love to say that we cannot have too much of that, so kudos to you and your team.

The inspiration behind embarking on my mission, or rather what contributed and propelled me into the space of helping and healing others, stems from my own struggles.

Many of us present our best selves daily while grappling with internal challenges that often go unnoticed.

Caribbean women are taught to be strong caretakers of our families and communities. Although there is a gradual shift towards greater awareness of self-care and prioritizing our well-being, this struggle persists among women of this generation.

Despite appearing as a well-put-together young woman who was thriving professionally, I had a moment of personal crisis.

I had to confront an unhealed aspect of myself that manifested in my personal life, impacting my professional endeavours and family interactions.

I realized I wasn't alone; a generation of women like me was striving for success and fulfillment but battling darkness within.

I even reached a point of contemplating suicide, a depth I never thought I would explore. This experience made me acutely aware that something was profoundly wrong and needed addressing.

Fast forward to today. I recognize the need to contribute my voice to this space and raise awareness about the importance of self-healing.

I found my healing not through conventional means or therapy but through scriptures and the Holy Spirit, guiding me to face each day with joy. Through divine-led exercises, I overcame the darkness that had gripped me. While occasional struggles may resurface, the awareness of what needs to be done empowers me to overcome them.

I realized the diversity in the forms of healing, acknowledging that while I found solace in scriptures, others might need therapy or different approaches. Regardless of the method, it is imperative to experience true success and fulfilment. We must address our unhealed aspects to lead wholesome lives surrounded by love and the ability to reciprocate that love fully.

What has been the most fulfilling aspect of your journey so far?

As the founder of the Caribbean brand TheBeyondWoman, dedicated to empowering Caribbean women and beyond through storytelling across various platforms such as our magazine, podcast, YouTube channel, website, and more, I find the most fulfilling part of my journey lies in the opportunity to have interviewed over 100 women since we started.

Through these interviews, I've heard diverse stories highlighting the uniqueness of each individual's path yet underscoring our shared similarities.

The richness of these stories, whether tales of overcoming adversity or simply pushing us to evolve, has been an incredibly joyful ride. To witness firsthand the varied journeys of women striving to become their best selves is a privilege. The ability to share these narratives with our community is equally rewarding, with the hope that each woman encountering TheBeyondWoman will find a takeaway that sparks positive change in her circumstances.

There is a saying perfect love casts out fear. How have you harnessed your love to overcome self-doubt, uncertainty, and limiting beliefs when they've arisen?

It's funny you should ask this because I wrote a book titled “Heal You First” and in that book, I quoted this particular scripture found in 1 John 4:18, and I wanted to just share a portion of what was said :

I have taken this to mean (that perfect love casts out fear) that when I understand and own my circumstances and limitations, I operate in perfect love for myself. I am not hating myself for my shortcomings or lack or comparing myself to someone else. I know that my circumstances were tailor-made for me and that this is the path that will lead me to my highest potential. If this end is true, my circumstances are perfect for me. In this state, fear does not control me, though it exists.

Therefore, my acceptance of myself as I am allows my love to counter the negatives, it’s a work in progress and also an ongoing process.

How have you used love to show up in your relationships with your customers, vendors and others you guide or lead to healing?

I attribute my approach to an uncanny ability to accept people for who they are. I hold a belief that does not discriminate, valuing every individual, even elevating the roles of those traditionally overlooked, such as garbage collectors. I connect with people on different levels, recognizing that we all pour from a cup that has been filled by others, some of whom may not have had the best pouring to give. This perspective shapes how I view everyone—as perfectly imperfect individuals in need of love and grace to become their best selves.

Lastly, why do you believe it's important for women to support heart-centered endeavors, such as your work?

I advocate for supporting endeavors similar to mine because we exist in a world that demands balance, a balance derived from the affirmations provided through our platform. Our work highlights the softer and more delicate aspects of life in a society that often emphasizes a self-centered mentality. This perspective becomes crucial as we navigate a world marked by increasing brutality and daily acts of violence. These incidents have a profound impact on our mental well-being, reinforcing the need for a shift towards community efforts filled with love, togetherness, and wholesome living.

It's a call to return to our roots, aligning with the teachings of the Bible about being our brothers', (sisters', and children's) keepers. I firmly believe that our work contributes to creating a saner and better world, promoting unification over separation and isolation.
