She’s Building Something: Meet Angela K. Chambers

Please tell us more about what you’re building and where your inspiration came from:

The Greenwood Beat - WFPG is a radio station and multimedia platform designed to uplift and empower the community, rooted in the historic legacy of Greenwood, the original Black Wall Street.

My inspiration comes from a deep passion for revitalizing the historic Greenwood District, also known as the original Black Wall Street, Black America and honoring our ancestors' entrepreneurial and cultural resilience.

This platform is more than just a radio station—it’s a movement to educate, inspire, and connect. We aim to create a hub for syndicated shows, community-focused content, and initiatives that drive meaningful change.

How do you envision this impacting the lives of others?

I envision The Greenwood Beat serving as a powerful voice for the community, breaking barriers in media representation while promoting education, health, financial literacy, and homeownership. It’s a space to amplify untold stories, celebrate Black excellence, and provide opportunities for individuals and businesses to thrive. Ultimately, this platform will empower people to dream bigger and build generational wealth.

What can others do to support you on this journey?

What did 2024 teach you as a visionary?

2024 was a year of resilience and clarity. It taught me the importance of staying true to my purpose and trusting the process, even when the path seems unclear. It was a reminder that visionaries must not only dream big but also build strong foundations and adapt to challenges with grace. The year reinforced my belief that our legacy is built in service to others.

Share your 2025 word of intention and what this means to you:

My 2025 word of intention is Legacy. This year, I’m committed to building something that will outlast me and make a lasting impact. It’s about creating opportunities, empowering others, and ensuring that The Greenwood Beat becomes a cornerstone for progress and prosperity in our community for generations to come.
